Shivering

Shivering appears to speak of the age old time where two people of the opposite sex, seem to have a moving and romantic effect upon each other. Yet for some reason, each one is hesitant to act. Although because of each one’s failure to act. Both could possibly lose out on the opportunity of a lifetime. It also could be a romantic metaphor to courting a dream where hesitation could also mean that lifetime opportunity or break has now become lost forever.

“KEEP ON DREAMIN’”

JENO singing to everyone in the room,

as though she’s better than them.

YOU WISH YOU COULD BE SINGING,

SINGING LIKE ME.

DO YOU WANT TO BE DANCING?

DANCING LIKE ME?

YOU’D LOVE TO BE MOVING,

MOVING LIKE ME.

I’LL KEEP ON LIVING

WHILE YOU’RE DREAMING YOUR LIFE AWAY.

YOU WISH YOU COULD BE EXCITED,

EXCITED LIKE ME.

DO YOU WANT TO BE ENTICED?

ENTICED LIKE ME?

YOU’D LOVE TO BE MESMERIZED,

MESMERIZED LIKE ME.

I’LL KEEP ON LIVING

WHILE YOU’RE DREAMING YOUR LIFE AWAY.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

I LOVE IT WHEN YOU LOOK AT ME.

I CAN’T IMAGINE HOW YOU MUST FEEL.

YOU SMELL MY PERFUME.

MUST BRING YOU AIR LOOM-ING.

PUT YOUR MIND IN A TWIRL.

I KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO YOU.

MUST BE LIKE LIGHTNIN’ THROUGH YOUR NERVES.

YOU WATCH ME SINGING, MOVING,

SHOCKED BY ALL MY GORGEOUS CURVES.

SO KEEP ON QUESTIONING, QUESTIONING ME.

YOU MUST BE WONDERING, WONDERING ABOUT ME.

SO KEEP ON STARING, YOU GOT A GOOD VIEW OF ME.

I’LL KEEP ON LIVING,

MOVING, SINGING, DANCING

WHILE YOU’RE DREAMING YOUR LIFE AWAY.

Keep on Dreaming

Keep on dreaming appears to present itself as Jeno’s very “confidently arrogant” statement to the world, “Everyone wants to be like me”. “I’m the only one really going somewhere and the rest of you are not”. “You are only dreaming your life away”. While destined for success is her reality. The truth is, if one looks deeper, her bravado at times is just a way of protecting her heart. This way she cannot be easily talked out of living her dreams. Also protecting herself from doubt and insecurity, she must galvanize herself against the prophecy of her parent’s upbringing that she’s wasting her time. Then Nikki gives her back a taste of her own fire as well.

“ROLL THE DICE”

WHAT YOU SEE AIN’T ALWAYS WHAT YOU GET.

TWO WRONGS DON’T ALWAYS MAKE IT RIGHT.

BETTER THINK TWICE

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

WHO YOU LOVE CAN BREAK YOUR HEART IN TWO.

WHO YOU TRUST WILL ONE DAY BACKSTAB YOU.

BETTER THINK TWICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

WHAT YOU SOW AIN’T ALWAYS WHAT YOU REAP.

LIKE WHAT THEY SAY, IT’S DO OR DIE.

YOU BETTER THINK TWICE

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

SO TAKE MY ADVICE, IT’S GONNA SAVE YOUR LIFE.

IT CUTS LIKE A KNIFE.

SO TAKE MY ADVICE,

TAKE MY ADVICE, IT’S GONNA SAVE YOUR LIFE.

CUTS LIKE A KNIFE.

YOU KNOW YOU BETTER THINK TWICE.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

TWICE, THINK TWICE

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

THE FUN ONES YOU THINK AIN’T GOT A CLUE.

YOU’RE MISTAKEN–THEY’RE GONNA TURN ON YOU.

BETTER THINK TWICE

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

WHO SMILES AT YOU, JUST WATCH THEIR EYES

‘CAUSE AS YOU TURN YOU GOT A BIG SURPRISE.

YOU BETTER THINK TWICE

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE,

BEFORE YOU ROLL THE DICE.

“Roll The Dice”

Presents a cynical yet cautious outlook on life and relationships,

with a reality jolt to not depend on the cliché perspective that to

deal fairly or give unbridled trust will always result in a positive

return. Sometimes in life we are surprised to find that the people

that we give the most of ourselves to, often can be the ones to

hurt or betray us the most. Also there is another premise which

lets us know that in life we have to take chances, and with those

chances come risk, i.e. the risk of being hurt or being deceived by

the very person or opportunity we’ve chosen to believe in.

“THEY DON’T MAKE MEN”

TALL MAN, SOFT TOUCH,

STOCKED FRAME, OH WHAT A SHAME.

THEY DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

BRIGHT EYES, ROUGED FACE.

WEALTHY, THEY CERTAINLY

DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

HOW STRONG WERE THESE MEN

TO LEAVE SUCH A LASTING IMPRESSION?

LIKE MICHAEL LANDON

JOHN WAYNE

CLARK GABLE, I THREW IN THE TOWEL.

‘CAUSE THEY DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

           THE GIRLS

THEY’D WALK US TO THE DOOR,

NOT ACT LIKE IT’S A BORE,

JUST KISS US GOODNIGHT

AND NOT PUT UP A FIGHT.

THEY DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

HOW STRONG WERE THESE MEN

TO LEAVE SUCH A LASTING IMPRESSION?

THEY SHOWED CHIVALRY, INTEGRITY,

RELIABILITY, THEY DEFINITELY

DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

THEY WOULD OPEN THE DOOR,

PUT THEIR COAT ON THE FLOOR,

PULL OUT A CHAIR, OH LADIES BEWARE!

THEY DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

FOR DAMN SURE.

YOU KNOW, I MIGHT AS WELL STAY HOME.

BECAUSE THEY DON’T MAKE MEN LIKE THAT ANYMORE!

They Don’t Make Men

As times change so do the manner and the make of people. This is a reflection of a time when men as a group represented strength of character and actions. These were the days where men could be relied upon to always be strong and reliable; the days where men were protectors and nobility was the foundation of his actions. They were the product of a society that demonstrated integrity and lasting values. The man’s presence meant safety and soundness for all those around him. Women were respected and cherished with loyalty and devotion that left a memorable mark on the face of society.

YOUR PROBLEM IS YOU PROCRASTINATE.

DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOIN’

DON’T CARE WHAT IT’S ABOUT.

BETTER GET WITH THE PROGRAM SOON.

SHAPE UP OR SHIP OUT.

“Shape Up or Ship Out”

There is a blind side to most people, yet for the most part, the people around us tolerate it. But to every situation there is a time factor, whereby if there is an unpleasant aspect to our behavior, the one who is discomforted the most by it will choose to make a decision to change or end some aspect of the relationship to cease from enduring further pain or inconvenience. The irony is that often we know of the problem, yet move so slowly to correct it.

Yet at the same time we can almost see the situation bring us down almost like watching it in slow motion. But at the same time, we seem almost powerless to correct it to save ourselves. Often the ones closest to us must scold us to a course of action by shaming us to the consequences of not heeding to the signs and warnings given to us.

“DO IT ON YOUR OWN”

         Tom

DO IT ON YOUR OWN, SO IT WILL BE YOUR OWN,

OR YOU’LL BE FIGHTING THE WORLD OUT THERE.

TAKE IT FROM ME, THE LABELS AIN’T GONNA BE,

YOU’LL BE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

THEY’LL OWN YOU, AND CONDONE YOU,

THEY’LL DISOWN YOU, AND YOU’LL BE ALL ALONE,

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

YELLING, PUNCHING, KICKING, SCREAMING,

YOU’RE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

WORK THE GRINDSTONE, YOU’LL BE CONDONED,

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

YOU’RE STRINGS TO THEIR PUPPET,

EATING OUT OF THEIR BUCKET,

YOU’LL BE FIGHTING THE WORLD OUT THERE.

THEY’LL OWN YOU, AND CONDONE YOU,

THEY’LL DISOWN YOU, AND YOU’LL BE ALL ALONE,

THE WORLD SEEMS EMPTY WITH YOU OUT THERE.

YELLING, PUNCHING, KICKING, SCREAMING,

YOU’RE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

PEOPLE DID IT THE WRONG WAY.

THEY SOLD THEIR SOULS

AND THEN WHEN THEY MADE IT

THEIR HEARTS COULDN’T CONSOLE.

THE STREETS PAVED WITH GOLD.

YOU’LL NEVER SELL YOUR SOUL,

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

WHEN YOU TURN TOO OLD

YOU’LL BE TOSSED OUT IN THE COLD,

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

THEY’LL OWN YOU, AND CONDONE YOU,

THEY’LL DISOWN YOU, AND YOU’LL BE ALL ALONE,

THE WORLD SEEMS EMPTY WITH YOU OUT THERE.

YELLING, PUNCHING, KICKING, SCREAMING,

YOU’RE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

TAKE IT FROM ME, THE LABELS AIN’T GONNA BE,

SEEMS EMPTY WITH YOU OUT THERE.

“Do It on Your Own”

When a person can accomplish something without the need or aid of outside resources or another person’s aid, it establishes a certain amount of freedom. On the other hand, when someone is obligated to a person or situation, there is the chance that the person upon whom one becomes dependent assumes a position of controlling influence. Where the ability to move freely or do things in one’s own particular way, only becomes available upon the permission of the one who dominates the situation. In society this happens every day. Someone holds another’s world in the their hand. If they choose to dismiss that person unexpectedly or manipulate their path or direction there isn’t much that the dependent one can do except to strike out for the sake of controlling their own destiny, also incurring the risk that come along with it.

   JENO

YOU BETTER STOP.

  JENO, NICKI & NORA

 YOU BETTER STOP HIM BECAUSE

I’LL SHOCK HIM IF HE MISBEHAVES.

Shock ‘Em

Misbehaving comes in many shapes and forms. People all around you are misbehaving each day, for every person on the road to success. There is someone out here trying to sabotage, upstage, set back or even trying to destroy someone’s path. It might not be in a malicious and overt type of way, but every subtle attack on ones self esteem is a quiet undermining of the vision of their success. It has been said, “Success at times is the best and most enduring revenge”.  Shock them and prove them wrong, but if you’re a wolf, you definitely will get bit in the ass.

“THAT’S WHAT YOU GET (THE GAME)”

YOU’RE IN TODAY AND GONE TOMORROW.

UP RIGHT NOW AND SHOT DOWN IN SORROW.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

ROLLER COASTER THAT LEADS NOWHERE.

GO STRAIGHT UP AND PLUNGE DOWN, IT’S NO FAIR.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

THEY SAID IT WOULDN’T BE EASY.

I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO,

WAS TOLD YOU NEED MORE THAN TALENT.

JUST TO PUT ON A SHOW.

OUT IN SPACE AND WON’T COME DOWN FOR NO ONE.

JOB STAND STILL AND THEN YOU’RE BACK TO SQUARE ONE.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

WAS TOO CUT THROAT FOR TONY BENNETT.

NO ONE KNOWS YOU’RE FEELING SCHIZOPHRENIC.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

THEY SAID IT WOULDN’T BE EASY.

I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO,

WAS TOLD YOU NEED MORE THAN TALENT.

JUST TO PUT ON A SHOW.

I LOVE THE LIFE THAT I LEAD.

YOU KNOW YOU’RE CRAZY INDEED.

I GOT TO LOVE FOR THE DREAM.

YOU NEED A BETTER JOB, IT SEEMS.

I CAN’T STOP NOW.

YOU’VE TURNED CRAZY SOMEHOW.

I GOT TO WORK TILL I DIE.

WELL, I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY.

I GOT TO KEEP GOING SOME MORE.

YOU’RE GONNA DROP TO THE FLOOR.

JUST ONE MORE SONG, STOP GETTING’ HUNG ON.

YOU KNOW YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND.

YOU’RE TOTALLY OUT OF HAND.

WELL, I WAS UP YESTERDAY, BUT I’LL BE DOWN TOMORROW.

ENJOY THE HIGHS, ‘CAUSE WHEN YOU DROP IT’S SO LOW.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

NO POTENTIAL, THEN YOU GOT IT ALL.

THE HIGHER UP THE LADDER, THE HARDER YOU FALL.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

THEY SAID IT WOULDN’T BE EASY.

I LEARNED A LONG TIME AGO,

WAS TOLD YOU NEED MORE THAN TALENT.

JUST TO PUT ON A SHOW.

HAVEN’T LEARNED FROM NOW

THE BUSINESS IS A WASTE.

THE SAME DOOR THAT OPENS

WILL SLAM RIGHT IN YOUR FACE.

.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

WELCOME TO THE BUSINESS.

THAT’S WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU’RE IN THE GAME.

“That’s What You Get (the Game)” Show business is the ultimate high for the born performer. Unfortunately the business of show business can at times become an illusion. It can be a place where one moment your name is on everyone’s lips. But just as quickly one can become a fading memory the next time around. You can be loved one day and forgotten in the same thought. There are times where you could have come from an arduous journey to arrive, and yet still seem like you’re in the same place you started. It will eat you alive and spit you out in the same breath. It’s message is to get as much out of it as you can and not lose your soul in the process. It is a dubious place where glory and rejection share a similar mask. Always truly know yourself or you could be lost.

EVERYTHING I NEVER THOUGHT I’D LOVE…’TIL NOW

“Everything”

There is a place that we all long for, where for a period of time in our lives, every waking moment was focused on that person or that position. Then there is the period where we obtain it or arrive. Does it live up to our expectations? Was it worth the sacrifice? Did it bring us happiness? Would we travel the road we traveled to get there all over again if we had to? Did it fulfill every fantasy, hope, wish or dream? Sometimes when we look back we marvel at why or how much we wanted this particular thing. Looking back on it with different eyes sometimes later causes us to try to understand why this was so important to us. When we rethink things, was it something we thought we wanted? As we grow, our perception and viewpoints change. In turn, so do our hopes and dreams.

There are times in life where a special someone comes into our lives that just somehow seems to have the qualities that touch the deepest part of ourselves. Slowly bit by bit we become accustomed to those little things they do that move us and touch us so strongly. We look forward to the way theysmell, the sound of their voice the aura of their presence. Then at some point we reach a stage of being intoxicated. Where the very essence of missing them, rips our soul with pain and discomfort. When they’re not around it’s as if the very air we breath were cut off. Is it pure raw animal magnetism that is mostly physical, or is it a deeper kinetic type of bond of heart and spirit. Or could it be a strange mix of both?

“ST. ANTHONY”

SPIRIT (SINGING) AND JENO

       (SPEAKING)

I LOST MY HEART, AND I LOST MY SOUL.

I LOST MY MIND, IT WENT OUT OF CONTROL.

I LOST MY HEALTH AND I LOST MY FRIENDS.

I LOST MY DREAMS, NOW WHERE DOES THIS END?

SO I HAD NOTHING LEFT.

I KNELT DOWN AND HELD BEADS TO MY CHEST,

AND I CRIED TO ST. ANTHONY,

COME AND HELP ME PLEASE.

ST. ANTHONY, ST. ANTHONY,

PLEASE COME AROUND THERE’S SOMETHING LOST

AND IT CAN’T BE FOUND.

I GOT BACK MY HEART, I GOT BACK MY SOUL.

I GOT BACK MY MIND, EVEN OUT OF CONTROL.

I GOT BACK MY HEALTH, BACK MY FRIENDS,

GOT BACK MY DREAMS, I HOPE IT DON’T END.

SO I LEARNED MY LESSON WELL,

TO CHERISH LIFE TO THE BEST THAT I CAN,

AND WHEN I’M SAD I CALL ST. ANTHONY…

COME HELP ME PLEASE.

ST. ANTHONY, ST. ANTHONY,

PLEASE COME AROUND THERE’S SOMETHING LOST

AND IT CAN’T BE FOUND.

SO NOW I CHERISH MY HEART AND I CHERISH MY SOUL,

I CHERISH MY MIND EVEN OUT OF CONTROL.

I CHERISH MY HEALTH, I CHERISH MY FRIENDS,

I CHERISH MY DREAMS, PLEASE SAY IT WON’T END.

“St. Anthony”

“St Anthony” is a cry for help when one reaches the crossroads of life where they don’t seem to have the answers. When one is in fear of losing the things that are the most precious to them. There is a time when the passions in which we truly believe are tested. As always, each test is a lesson to be learned from the beloved higher power. Also there is an ever present truth that when we feel we are the farthest and have lost everything, then we are the closest and have truly gained the most.

“I WISH”

                  Jeno

DO YOU KNOW I SEE YOU WHEN YOUR BACK IS TURNED,

AND I SEE THAT FAMILIAR LOOK IN YOUR EYES,

DO YOU KNOW I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE THINKING

WHEN YOU’RE ACROSS THE ROOM,

NOW YOU KNOW WHY I GOT TO SAY GOODBYE.

DO YOU NOW WHO I AM?

DO YOU FEEL WHAT I’M FEELING?

I WISH I ONLY HAD LOVE FOR YOU.

I KNOW YOU SEE ME WHEN MY BACK IS TURNED,

AND YOU SEE THAT FAMILIAR LOOK IN MY EYES,

I KNOW YOU KNOW WHAT I’M THINKING

WHEN I’M ACROSS THE ROOM,

NOW YOU KNOW WHY I GOT TO SAY GOODBYE.

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

DO YOU FEEL WHAT I’M FEELING?

I WISH I ONLY HAD LOVE FOR YOU

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

DO YOU FEEL WHAT I’M FEELING?

I WISH I ONLY HAD LOVE FOR YOU

(SLOW)

SO NOW WHEN YOU SEE ME AND MY BACK IS TURNED,

AND YOU SEE THAT FAMILIAR LOOK IN MY EYES,

PLEASE JUST TURN AROUND AND WALK AWAY,

YOU KNOW WE DON’T DESERVE EACH OTHER ANYWAY.

(FAST)

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

DO YOU FEEL WHAT I’M FEELING?

I WISH I ONLY HAD LOVE FOR YOU.

DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM

DO YOU FEEL WHAT I’M FEELING

I WISH I ONLY HAD LOVE FOR YOU.

I Wish”

There are times when two people meet and share something unique for a brief period of time. Yet as wonderful and eternal as it seems to be, it is only for a moment, and one that unfortunately is not meant to be forever. In most situations there is often one heart that burns brighter than the other. As time would have it, in a season to come, one love wants to move on to share another encounter with someone new or at times someone old. But in every goodbye there is the part of each person that although they’ve shared the time, the season has come to call back its due. It is a painful, yet sometimes necessary goodbye.

“DO IT ON YOUR OWN”

     Charlie

DO IT ON YOUR OWN,

SO IT WILL BE YOUR OWN,

OR YOU’LL BE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

TAKE IT FROM ME,

THE LABELS AIN’T GONNA BE,

YOU’LL BE FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

THEY’LL OWN YOU, AND CONDONE YOU,

THEY’LL DISOWN YOU, AND YOU’LL BE ALL ALONE,

FIGHTIN’ THE WORLD OUT THERE.

Do It on Your Own (Reprise)

Success is a journey with many paths and no two are ever going to be exactly alike. There are those who are forced to travel it alone because of what they don’t have. Others were blessed withthe good fortune to have received some type of advantage. An interesting thing about success is that there are some parts of it which require  significant help from others. Then there other times when no one can help a person. The success or failure rests solely on the effort and timing of the individual. But if you accomplish that which you seek or desire in the end, you’ll definitely call the shots and no-one will own you.

“BY ACCIDENT”

DID ELVIS PRESLEY SWING THOSE HIPS BY ACCIDENT?

IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THEM SUCCEED,

YOU’LL REGRET YOU NEVER TOOK THE LEAD.

‘CAUSE YOU CAN’T GET THAT GOOD BY ACCIDENT.

NO, IT TAKES HARD WORK, DEDICATION,

SACRIFICE, A CERTAIN REPUTATION.

YOU THINK HE GOT THAT GOOD?

YOU THINK SHE GOT THAT GOOD?

WELL, YOU CAN’T GET THAT GOOD BY ACCIDENT!

YOU CAN’T GET THAT GOOD BY ACCIDENT.

By Accident

People sometimes live by the belief that fortunate things in successful people’s lives just happen, because they were just “meant to be” for that person. This creates a false sense of inspiration for achievement. It gives those who are looking for “an excuse to fail” a way out. Where the real truth is that if you closely trace the path of most who are successful we’ll discover the truth that often what we put into something de-termines what we’ll usually get out of it.

“KEEP ON DREAMIN’” (REPRISE)

IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT.

IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT.

NO ONE KNOW’S BUT ME,

THAT WE FEEL THE SAME,

SO DON’T FEEL NO SHAME.

CAUSE IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT.

IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT.

IT’S NOBODY’S FAULT

THAT WE FEEL THE SAME

AND NOBODY TO BLAME.

CAUSE I WANT AND I NEED,

CAUSE I WANT AND I NEED,

CAUSE I WANT AND I NEED

YOUR LOVE.

Nobody’s Fault

A comforting thought that lets us know that when things happen beyond our control, there comes a point where blame and being right or being wrong all have the same result. In life, if every part that we encountered was predictable, we’d somehow find a way to manipulate it, thereby achieving results that, in time, would affect us all. At times, a variety of things do not go according to script. But for the record, “blamers never lead and leaders never blame”.

“HIGH CLASS CROOK”

SPIRIT AND JENO

YOU WALK AROUND IN YOUR FANCY CLOTHES,

USING IT UP YOUR NOSE.

YOU DRIVE AROUND IN YOUR FANCY CAR;

YOU, SCHEMED TO GET THAT FAR.

YOU’RE JUST A HIGH CLASS CROOK,

AND YOU’RE ALL THE SAME TO ME.

YOU THINK YOU COULD GET AWAY

WITH THE LIVES YOU BETRAYED?

YOU THINK YOU COULDN’T BE BEAT

STEALING SHOES OFF THEIR FEET?

YOU’RE JUST A HIGH CLASS CROOK

AND YOU’RE ALL THE SAME TO ME.

WELL, I’M HERE TO WARN YA

THAT I’LL SCORN YA FROM A MILE AWAY,

AND I’LL BEAT YA THEN DEFEAT YA

WITH EVERY GAME THAT YOU PLAY.

YOU’RE JUST A HIGH CLASS CROOK

AND YOU’RE ALL THE SAME TO ME.

WELL, WIPE THAT GRIN OFF YOUR FACE,

BECAUSE YOU ARE A DISGRACE.

YOU’VE GOT HANDS OF SIN

AND I DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN.

YOU’RE JUST A HIGH CLASS CROOK

AND YOU’RE ALL THE SAME TO ME.

WELL, I’M HERE TO WARN YA

THAT I’LL SCORN YA FROM A MILE AWAY,

AND I’LL BEAT YA AND DEFEAT YA

WITH EVERY GAME THAT YOU PLAY.

YOU’RE JUST A HIGH CLASS CROOK AND ALL THE SAME TO ME.

High Class Crook

This presents a somewhat cynical look into the thought that most who have acquired or achieved, have done so at the cost or thievery of someone or some-thing. Many view their peers of modern day life as having “gotten over” on someone to get or keep that place in life where they have “arrived”. This is a pulling the mask off those who play the game of the masquerade. Their gain is “success” ,  but possibly at the expense of their souls.

“YOU TOLD ME”

JENO

YOU TOLD ME I’D NEVER MAKE IT.

YOU TOLD ME I’D NEVER SUCCEED.

I THINK YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR RECORDS, MA’AM.

NO ONE MAKES ME DOUBT MY DREAMS.

DON’T TELL ME I CAN’T DO IT ALL.

FROM HERE THE JOKE’S ON YOU.

I THINK YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR RECORDS, MA’AM.

NO ONE MAKES ME LOOK LIKE A FOOL.

I KNOW I WAS CRAZY, I KNOW I WAS WILD.

I KNOW I ACTED LIKE A NUTTY CHILD.

BUT THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW.

THE TABLES ARE TURNED,

NOW YOU’RE IN FOR IT SOMEHOW.

THEY MUST HAVE TOLD YOU YOU’D NEVER MAKE IT, TOO.

IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN ONE DAY.

WELL, I DON’T CARE WHAT THEY TOLD YOU,

YOU GET THE HELL OUT OF MY WAY.

I’LL BE DAMNED TO LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN.

I’LL BE DAMNED TO LIVE IN FEAR.

KEEP BRINGING FUEL FOR MY FIRE,

YOU ALL, BECAUSE OF YOU IS WHY I’M HERE.

I KNOW I WAS CRAZY, I KNOW I WAS WILD.

I KNOW I ACTED LIKE A NUTTY CHILD.

BUT THAT WAS THEN AND THIS IS NOW.

THE TABLES ARE TURNED,

NOW YOU’RE IN FOR IT SOMEHOW.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

YOU BETTER TELL THEM THEY CAN DO IT ALL.

DON’T STOP DREAMS BECAUSE OF FEAR.

KEEP BRINGING FUEL FOR MY FIRE, YOU ALL.

BECAUSE OF YOU IS WHY I’M HERE.

You Told Me

This song reflects a place that most true artists of their craft have had to face: the moment where someone told you that your success at a particular endeavor was a waste of time. People use your past against you to convince you that you were not chosen for success. But this is quite the contrary with other artists. It appears with some, the more you doubt them, the harder they work. These are the select few for whom the word and concept of “failure” doesn’t exist. One must pursue greatness for fulfillment and satisfaction, never to shame one’s critics. Greatness achieves immortality. Critics usually just ultimately die off.

“DAMNED IF YOU DO”

      ANNA

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DON’T.

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

CAUSE IT AIN’T GONNA FLOAT.

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DON’T.

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

SO GET OUT OF THE BOAT.

OPEN YOUR EYES,

‘CAUSE IT AIN’T NO SURPRISE.

HELL, YOU’RE DAMNED EACH WAY,

WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DON’T.

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

DON’T SIT AROUND AND MOPE.

SITTING AROUND WITH YOUR ASS ON THE LINE,

DON’T YOU SEE, KID, YOU AIN’T GONNA SHINE.

OPEN YOUR EYES,

‘CAUSE IT AIN’T NO SURPRISE.

HELL YOU’RE DAMNED EACH WAY,

WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?

THINGS AIN’T WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN IRELAND.

IT AIN’T LIKE WE WERE TAUGHT THEN.

YOU WORK WITH YOUR HANDS

AND PUT BREAD IN YOUR MOUTH

AND THANK GOD THAT THE RIVER WASN’T IN DROUGHT.

THINGS AIN’T WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN IRELAND.

SCHOOL WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.

YOU DANCIN’ ON STAGE,

YOU START GETTING A NAME,

GOING DOWN THE HILL WITH ALL THAT FAME.

WELL, THINGS AIN’T WHAT THEY USED TO BE IN IRELAND.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DO,

YOU’RE DAMNED IF YOU DON’T

NOTHIN’ LEFT TO SAY, KID,

GO YOUR OWN WAY.

Damned if You Don’t

A wise man once said, he didn’t have the key to guarantee success. But he definitely knew the key to failure, it was trying to please everyone. Truth is, that in order to truly be free to live one’s life the way one sees fit, there will be some point where you’re ultimately not going to please someone.  Practically all successful people share one particular quality. They are each strong enough to only dance to the tune of their own hopes and dreams.

“SHIVERING”

 ENSEMBLE

SHIVERING, QUIVERING, JITTERING

SHIVERING, QUIVERING, JITTERING

SHIVERING, QUIVERING, JITTERING

DON’T YA SEE WHAT YOU’RE DOING TO ME?

“BETTER LATE THAN NEVER

SPIRIT AND JENO

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER,

NOW I CAN HOLD MY HEAD HIGH.

I KNEW I’D HAVE TO TAKE THE HARD ROAD,

BUT I WAS WILLING TO TRY.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, IF I’M TIRED SOME.

GOD’S WITH ME WHEREVER I GO,

NOW HE’S PROUD OF WHAT I’VE DONE.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, BETTER LATE THAN WRONG.

AT LEAST NOW I’VE LEARNED.

BE GOOD TO PEOPLE ON THE RIGHT ROAD

AND YOU’LL NEVER GET BURNED.

HAD TO LEARN THE HARD WAY,

TO LET GO OF THE PAST.

HAD TO SEARCH FOR SOMETHING,

SOMETHING THAT WOULD LAST.

I JUST WANTED THE BEST FOR YOU.

I WANTED YOU YO HAVE IT ALL

EVEN WHEN I SEE YOU FALLING

GET BACK UP AND STAND TALLER.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER, BETTER LATE THAN WRONG.

PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGY FOR ALL I’VE DONE WRONG.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER,

NOW I CAN HOLD MY HEAD HIGH.

I KNEW I’D HAVE TO TAKE THE HARD ROAD,

BUT I WAS WILLING TO TRY.

HAD TO LEARN THE HARD WAY,

TO LET GO OF THE PAST.

HAD TO SEARCH FOR SOMETHING,

SOMETHING THAT WOULD LAST.

Better Late Than Never”

Is there a time for success? Can success be too early, or can success be too late? Is anything worth having worth having late, or never at all ? Are life, love, forgiveness and success ever really on time? No matter the journey, the price, or the time, it is always right and special when it arrives. As long as it occurs while one still has breath to receive it.

“STRAIGHT TO THE TOP”

ENSEMBLE

GET OUT OF MY WAY, I’M COMING THROUGH,

I’M GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU’VE BEEN, I COULD CARE LESS.

I’M GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

I COULD TAKE YOU OR LEAVE YOU, LOVE OR DECEIVE YOU,

I’M GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

I DON’T CARE WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE,

I DON’T CARE WHO YOU THINK YOU KNOW,

I DON’T CARE JUST WHAT YOU’VE DONE,

MY CONSCIENCE IS CLEAR,

I’M GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

(INSTRUMENTAL)

I USED TO CARE WHAT OTHERS THOUGHT,

I USED TO CARE WHAT OTHERS SAID ABOUT ME.

BUT NOW I’VE LEARNED TO RISE ABOVE

ALL THAT TALK AND HYPOCRISY.

REST MY HEAD AT NIGHT, I DON’T THINK TWICE.

WE’RE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU, I HAVE NO REGRETS.

WE’RE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

BEEN THERE, DONE THAT. IT DON’T MEAN JACK.

WE’RE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

I DON’T CARE WHO YOU THINK YOU ARE,

I DON’T CARE WHO YOU THINK YOU KNOW,

I DON’T CARE JUST WHAT YOU’VE DONE,

MY CONSCIENCE IS CLEAR,

WE’RE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP.

YOU CAN GO YOUR WAY, BECAUSE WE’RE GOING OURS.

WE’RE GOING STRAIGHT TO THE TOP!

“Straight To the Top”

A determined mind and a steadfast heart always wins. Through the obstacles and pitfalls that come from the highs of the mountaintop, to the echoes and the tears of ones own voice. In the lowest part of the valleys of life, dreams will always have their critics, doubters and setbacks, but those who close their ears and prime their hearts will one day arrive at the end of their journey. They will hold the prize of success in their hand, having learned obstacles were not meant to destroy us through failure, but to prove us worthy as the precious jewels and shining stars,we were always destined to be.
